Having your HHR Your Way

I have 5 Badges/Emblems on the Tailgate now, I'm going to remove some maybe the SS & the Turbo & leave the HHR, Panel, Special Edition & the SS on the Doors

That looks great. Did you add any extra 3M tape? Or a diffrent type of glue to keep if from falling? I'm just worried that the heat from the engine would mess with the glue and it would fall off while driving

Sorry Foxtrot, I didn't see your first attempt, ain't no way it's coming off without the heat gun. Besides you shouldn't slow down that much, that the grill could get hot.
use heat when you stick it on, clean with alcohol before heating, it sticks and hardens like concrete

SS looks great Fireman

I bought a new SS emblem from the dealer so it had it's own new 3M tape. I made a small black plastic backing plate for the emblem. I put 2 small mounting studs on back of the plate. Bolted it to the grill, not stuck to the grill w/tape. I can move it around on the grill if I want to change locations.
Heat from the engine? Outside air is flowing through the grill. I don't think it will get hot enough to melt the tape. Put your hand up there and feel for heat. Ain't much heat on the outside.
Anyhow. It's been on the grill almost 2 years.Tight and firm as day one.

I like the look of these, they come in both Sizes + Red & Black, these SS Emblems look modern much more period correct, the stock ones look like 64 Impala left-overs

Well, the HHR is supposed to be retro style influenced by design. Me, I like the "64 Impala left-over" looking emblem.
