MPG with the GMPP Turbo Upgrade
Took a trip down to Maumee Ohio today. 80 mile trip down. Driving between 53-55mph I reached an astounding 40.7 MPG Average. By the time I reached the parking lot it had dropped to an extremely great 39.4 MPG Average. I couldn't believe it :twothumbs: Turned on Competitive Mode and took Dustin for a spin to show him how the upgrade felt and then drove home the 80 miles with it on. MPG Average dropped to a still respectable 32.2 MPG. Now if I could just do all highway driving!

Sounds about right, until you put the skinny to the floor. I average about 26 a tank unless I do the speed limit. The poor aero of the car is evident in the average mpg at 75.

I just did a 400 miler and still have neve seen above 27-28 MPG(tuned and piped), even on the highway. I have seen it go as low as 12 MPG in the city.

I haven't reset the DIC in like 2 years on my Staged SS (5-speed) and my overall MPG is reading 26.8 right this second. My commute to work is like 24 miles one-way with little stop and go but I also do a good 7-8k of interstate a year with travel. I have a tick over 53,000 miles now. Before the ethanol mix gas it would regularly be 28+.

I haven't bought the upgrade kit as of yet for my 2009. I'll decide by the end of the month before the deal goes away. My son had pointed out that it will require 93 octane whenever it gets filled up after the upgrade.
I just noticed the label at the gas flap already says "Premium Fuel Only". Oops! Over all, can I actually anticipate better gas mileage with the upgrade, and WITHOUT happy feet on the gas pedal? Is there a economy advantage that can justify the change to the upgrade kit? |

MPG drops significantly between 60 and 70 MPH. Keep it under 60 MPH and you can get > 30 MPG. Speed up to 70+ MPH and it drops down to 26-28 MPG, depending on the terrain.
