Newby to the HHR world. On the clock it has a hair over 90k on the engine. I put about 315 miles on the car during my 6+hr drive back to NC from Gainesville, Ga. So about the car. It's a manual 09 HHR SS 5 spd with the Performance package. Brembo, LSD, Bluetooth...blah, blah, blah. It's a Victory Red if not mistaken? What I know about the car thus far is. It spent most of life in Ga and Alabama and some point ended up being sold at an auction; which I'm assuming this is where the dealer I picked up the car from bought it? Initial inspection of the car when I arrived was severely limited. It's was pouring down rain! Either way I was planning on getting the car as long as it checked out. Negotiated a cash offer and the rest is history.

Plans for the car. Nothing crazy at the moment. A tune up, followed by the timing chain replacement. Yes I've heard should be good until about a 100k. I get that...but considering I don't know the maintenance history it's about a piece of mind for me. Hopefully I can thoroughly go through the car this weekend? I'm looking forward to learning more about my SS. I'm already tracking the Search bar is my friend. I will post up pictures soon.

Welcome to the site, no timing belt! Our Ecotec’s have chains, an easy job with some experience. The 2.0 LNF has specific parts , don’t order a generic kit from EBay, the crankshaft sprocket is different.
sounds like a good score, congratulations!

Cloyes 9-4201SX timing chain, guides and tensioner kit and 9-4202SX balance shaft chain and guides with tensioner kit, do not come with the sprockets, at your mileage , you won’t need them

Do you mean the cables? Or are there also rods somewhere?
