OK, so I'm going to disappoint some folks, but I've decided to shut this idea down due to a bunch of reasons.
With my work/personal schedule getting saturated, that's made it even harder to think about this project.

After doing a search, it seems there are plenty of "stage 1" emblems from Grand Sport Buicks that have been recast. Some others are NOS parts. I've found several sets available on EBAY.
They are not cheap. A pair of them will run you about $90.00

The colour can be changed for the '1'. White, black, red, blue, silver, whatever.
I was thinking about that too. The Red '1' would really look amazing on the black and navy blue HHR SS's. For the red HHR's... a white '1'? A burgundy or different shade of red? Suggestions are welcome. I'm thinking of producing a set for people to buy, but these colour considerations are good to nail early.

If you want the factory look you can always check this site out, I've already ordered some for my other car and the quality and look is right on....you may find them on e-bay also.....Chrome only, they do not do colored letters or numbers but you can always paint the ''1'' with the paint color of your choice...

Came up with this so far:
I prefer the one that is just the outline, this way your paint color will show through as the lettering, for example:
It's raining here right now, but if it stops, I'll put one on my car to show you guys a real world example
