Im not big on chrome either, but i hate that they use plastic on everything with the SS i know eventually the plastic honeycomb will get brittle and discolored.

New chrome is no better. If it is steel it will rust and if it is plastic it will crack and discolor.

My inlaws last Lincoln and Cadillac's Grilles are a mess after 4 years of highway driving.

Old chome would pit and wash out.

The only thing that has held up of late is the Satin Nickel plated grilles in my GTP. They were a dealer SPO part they installed but they have held up well.

Ok then it would only have pitting, oxydation, scratches and corrosion.

Stainless would be heavy and expensive.

There are good and bad of them all as the front of a vehicle takes a beating no matter the material.

chrome

Chrome is great on some rides, but then the blacked out look is awesome also...
If I could post some pic's I'd post some of the 04 Denali (Blacked out ) and the HHR (Blinged out ).....It all depends on the trim packages.....And oh yea, what the wife wants..........

Wow, that grille does make the car look a lot different. I'm not a big fan of the mass of chrome myself, it does remind me of the Denali grille actually. Yes, everyones tastes are different though, for sure!

This is the first color-matched trim car that I have ever had and I like it a lot. I really like the blacked out look and that is why I did the same with my bowties and SS emblems.

Not a big fan of the chrome myself. But always nice to have options. Now I just wish they would start to offer the SS wheels in black chrome. That would look amazing on just about any of the SS colors!!

Looks good on the lighter colored car. I love my monotone ride.
