New Wizard Cooling radiator install

https://wizardcooling.com/2006-2011-...inum-radiator/

i bought one one of these for my 2009 SS which I use for work and travel as a rep for 4.5 states. I seem to spend a lot of time stuck in traffic in St. Louis , Omaha or Kansas City on a daily basis. When it’s hot out I was seeing temps climbing to 210 and 220, I decided I’d remove the weak link and install a Wizard Cooling radiator when I saw they were on sale for 14% off. It does stabilize the temps so far in traffic to 185 constant. It may run a touch warmer when the summer gets here but I know it’s a huge improvement. The original radiator was 7 pounds of single row plastic and aluminum, the Wizard Cooling radiator is 17pounds of double row full USA aluminum. I’m glad to have it and will most likely move to any future SS’s I may end up with. Pro tip on install. Remove bumper and remove bolts on the oil cooler. It drops right in like a factory fit, even with the extra thickness. I bought this for extra insurance plus it’s cheaper than a head gasket.

Original

Good comparison

17lbs.

Beautiful

I have been wanting to buy one of these for a while now, but it’s a bit pricey. How did you get the 14% off?

I have been looking for alternative full aluminum radiators that are better priced, but they seem to be the only ones that make them.

Actually it’s 15%, my mistake. If you load it into the cart it happens automatically. I really like it, if I have a good spring I may buy a second for the AA5. I’ll keep the old radiators in case I trade a car off. I’m guessing these radiators will have some resell value in the end

Got my Wizard Rad installed today. Very happy with it.
As I mentioned in another thread.

Two things about the install. First: I couldn't reuse the plastic gap shrouds on the left and right sides. The hood would not shut with them installed. I may fabricate my own?
Second: I couldn't get fan to snap into the Wizard mounts. Its hanging in them now. But its not going anywhere.
