Is this normal
So I was sitting at a light this morning and wanted to see what PSI 1st gear put out on the HHR SS because I hear people say 7-8 PSI. Well I'm hitting 13-14 PSI. I did it several times in first gear. Was 7-8 PSI only for autos?
BTW it's 30 deg out siode here in Peoria AZ. Damn Global Warming. LOL

Of course the torque in first and second are reduced in the AT. Also the traction control will effectively reduce torque when it's enabled. You can't really discuss this without being specific about transmission type and whether the TC is enabled.

I said 7-8 psi in a thread the other day, in any gear, but you have to know read the whole thing.
At "0" F degrees outside, my stock manual SS only put out 7-8 psi, in 1st as well as in 4th. On the way home, the same day, with the turbo upgrade installed, it was running 17-18 psi at still single digit temps.
The temp has a big effect on boost levels, as the car reduces boost when its calculation of rated HP is made. At cold temps, the dense air makes rated HP, 260, at much less boost, so thats where the ECM limits boost to.
I'm lovin this turbo upgrade!!
