Ohio has a new HHR SS Owner

Well I took the plung tonight and bought a Loaded Black HHR SS with the Ebony and Red interior.

I will pick her up around 2 PM Friday.

I will as soon as I get it home. Doug Chevy is picking it up in Dayton in the AM.

twistedamd 07-31-2008 09:58 PM

allright you are going to have a smile on your face everytime you drive her!

hyperv6 08-01-2008 05:53 AM

My only worry is the small speedo make it easy to drive guilt free fast.

My head up in the GTP reminds me too often how big the ticket will be.

Now the question is do I play Back in Black AC DC on the first drive or Fade to Black Metalica.

I have the 4 Cellos playing Fade to Black. Would that be more proper because I am over 40?

SILVER SS 08-01-2008 06:09 AM

Answering your question, Play whatever you like, just remember,
It's a badass black SS...
Congratulations you lucky dog, and post some pic's of her...

I live in Medina and work in Fairlawn with an SS the same color combination. Black with blk/red interior.

Hope to see you around sometime.

Congratulations.:thumb:

Cool! I love the look of the black with that two tone interior. Congrats on the new SS!:thumb:

I'd go with "Back in Black" myself, that is one of my ring tones actually! My other two rides are black, Viki is the first red car I have had in a while!

A good radar/laser detector is mandatory with this car. Never leave home without it! It is just way too easy to speed and it is a subtle reminder to keep it in check!

You will have to get used to people walking up and checking out your car also. Last night I was at a local car cruise and several people wanted to know more about my car. Even the Mustang owners were impressed with the SS! Most of them had never seen one before!

I noticed people just now are starting to know or understand what the SS really is. GM never really promoted them much.

hyperv6 08-01-2008 07:52 AM

To the other black SS's in Akron I have not seen yours yet as the only black one I have ever seen was in the Portage Lakes and it was from PA. I ive on the Akron Coventry line just off of 224.

I will have to watch for you guys. Please don't so anything crazy like rob a bank or anything as I would hate to get pulled over. [Ha HA].

Mine will be going out to the east side as I work at Summit Racing.

One of our retail guys just bought a silver HHR SS 3 weeks ago. The Akron SS owner numbers are climbing.

That's too funny, because that's the exact same thing I experienced when I picked up my SS a couple nights ago. I am so used to the HUD in my GP telling me exactly how fast I'm going. Even the analog speedo in the GP is much bigger than the SS and has easier to read gradation. In the SS I can't tell if I'm going 62 or 72 sometimes.

JCJSS 08-01-2008 09:14 AM

After just putting 500 miles on our new SS my wife left for 2 weeks to visit her mother in Greenville Ohio. She is coming back today and I'm not sure if I missed her or the SS more.

hyperv6 08-01-2008 12:02 PM

Well they called and it is in from Dayton.

I get to pick it up at 4 and I may not post for a few days.

jeffs396 08-01-2008 12:52 PM

Congrats on the new SS! I'll look you up the next time I'm at the retail store...usually visit a few times a year. BTW...how about a meet at the store...would it be allowed? There are quite a few of us members here in NE Ohio, what better place for a meet than the largest toy store for grown-ups! :thumb:

Clevelandhhrss 08-01-2008 01:16 PM

There is another black SS that rides on the east side of cleveland. Wonder if he is on here?? I seem to be the only one around cleveland proper?

Jeff® 08-01-2008 01:24 PM

Yes, you black SSs are cool  but Chevy didn't call Victory Red VICTORY for nothing!

Black was my backup choice, although I already have a black Avalanche. I also like the flash blue color but never got to see one in person.

I am up stairs in the offices. You need Rambo and a SWAT team to get up there.

If you ever get the time note all the video camera's. You would not believe how good they are.

I liked the red as it is good looking and easy to touch up and keep clean. Black I love but hate the up keep and Imperial Blue is sweet but it is hard to touch up metalic paint with stone chips.

Black and red I can blend in with my Meguires unigrit stones and you would never know it has a chip.

I am watching on the dealer spy cam on the web and they have my HHR in the service bay. I expect they will be done with the prep soon.

I think what was meant was to have a meet at Summit Racing Eq. sometime...in the parking lot. :D

I think we are wondering if they would allow it?

Sounds like it would be fun. I would probably be in for it...only about 20-25 minutes from me...:thumb:

I understand.

I just get a of people that learn I work there and assume I am in retail and come in looking for me.

If you do stop by they can call me from retail and I can come down.

The one supervisor in Retail just bought a 08 Silver SS. He beat me my 4 weeks from being the first there. We also have 5 other HHR's in the lot most days.

I just got in from a cruise in as it was my first night out as I wanted to get two coats of wax on before I drove it much and and I had to judge a car show all day today.

I am thinking of hitting the Quaker Steak and Lube Sunday night or North Canton Arbys.

Jeff® 08-03-2008 10:31 AM

Is that the Quaker Steak & Lube in Valley View?
Is Sunday night a regular thing?

(Not Erie)

Not sure we on Valley View be we have one here in Canton that has a regular Sunday deal.

It might be a mess with the Hall of Fame weekend.

But then again where else can you walk into a Chilli's and eat with 5-6 NFL hall of famers. Like Kenny Stabler and Howie Long etc.

I might go since they are near some of the hotels and you never know who might show up this week.
