Have you ever seen this color

I was browsing Listing All Cars yesterday and came upon this SS. I would call it metallic dark grey. It is the only SS I have ever seen with this color - and I have browsed the classifieds a lot. Has anyone ever seen another?

I believe the color is Amethyst. I've seen it on just 1 other HHR.

Apparently it’s Silverstone per this

Dark Grey metallic would be a better match , what year is it?

Agreed, that's not even close to Silverstone - it's way too dark for that. That Dark Grey metallic would be a better match.

Who knows, it could be a repaint with a non-stock color.

The one thread I posted showed the SS colours and Dark Grey wasn’t one of them, so maybe it’s a clone!!!

I looked at the ad. It appears to be a true SS (although, no underhood pics)
That is not a 2009 SS stock color. Must be repainted.

If it is a repaint, they did the door jambs. The vin shows it is a SS.

Here is the listing

Well dark grey metallic must have been available on 2009 SS models.
I can say there are no white ones!

This site shows only six colours available in 2009 for the SS

https://www.carsdirect.com/2009/chevrolet/hhr/colors

These guys don’t show dark grey metallic for any 2009 HHR, that lunar quartz looks way to dark!

http://www.automotivetouchup.com/tou...olet/2009/hhr/

I’ve bought paint from these guys and it is a direct match even the 2003 GT paint was spot on! Better then the GM paint she got with the car!

It is a Stupid Chevrolet thing.

This car Is definitely Mocha Steel Metallic unless the color in the posting is way off.

My 2nd HHR was a new 2011 with that color .. Mocha Steel Metallic
That was the only year that color was available.

It was on the Ordering info and on the side window complete print out for new cars.

When I went to buy touch up paint from my Chevrolet Dealer it was listed as Magna Steel Metallic (Gray) from the parts department. That is what they go by.
I looks close to gray in certain lighting conditions but most of the time it is a Metallic Brown/Gray tone.

So if it’s a 2011 only colour, how’d it get on this 2009 SS?
Weird things happen, and I’m gonna email the vendor to see if they’ll send me the paint code.

Well that’s a more point now , I clicked on the link and the car has been sold!!!
