parking brake adjustment - 09 ss man

i havent got a shop manual yet and just took delivery of my ss. ive noticed i really have to crank up on the brake lever for it to hold. the car only has 25k on the clock. is there an adjustment in behind the lever or is it done at the brake side?

thanks

Normally you can do a series of stepping on the brake and pulling the handle over and over to adjust the brakes. The other way is to pry out on the rear piston and work the brake lever on the rear caliper.

Note you need to restep on the pendal before the application of the e brake.

Both are a pain to do but that is how it is done. That is why it is a good thing to use the E brake at least once a week in the automatics or they will get behind.

I'm going to look into this over the weekend. Mine still holds, but is a long way from "properly adjusted". Kinda resembles the nut behind the wheel...

i know with my solstice , there was an ongoing issue with the cable design. i think it had a pretty big amount of stretch. there is supposed to be a wheel type of adjustment where the cable goes into the handle , but i havent looked in the hhr yet. im assuming GM used a similar design
