Racing Harness?
Has anyone installed a racing harness in their SS? I wish the seat belt would hold me tighter when cornering (maybe I'm insecure). I once raced a jalopy at Holland Speedway and fell in love with the racing harness that just glued you to the seat.
Would it be practical in a DD? Jim |
They look cool and hold you in better but are a pain in the butt for everyday.
If you want held in better get better seats. But they can be a pain too. If it is a weekemd car or play car you can live with them but for every day they lose their appeal every time you get in or go through a drive in window. |
a good set of racing seats will help out with the sliding around allot. anything with a decent set of bolsters will that in combination of the stock belt will be a bit more comfortable then going with harneses for an everyday car. i agree with hyper that harneses on a daily driver will lose their appeal very quickly.
one word of warning, all racing seats are not the same. try them out. find one that fits your body isntead of buying a seat blindly. and make sure its a quality seat. |
Racing harnesses are illegal for street usage in many jurisdictions.

unless you are making over 1000whp i doubt you need racing harnesses.

Besides, people would look at you and that harness and probably laugh....JMO (I would)
But it is your car. |
Maybe I should buy a velcro suit and cover the seat with hook and loop.
;) |
JB Weld and duct tape.
