Is there a RPO code for Brembo brakes and I read it comes with limited slip FWD as an SS option

 

Yes. Only available with the 5 speed.

 

the ss is automatic and has Brembos

 

Then someone added them later as Chevy only offered the Brembos and LSD on the 5 speed HHR SS.
The Performance Package option was Brembos and Limited Slip differential, only available on the 5 speed.

 

I ran into the previous owner at a Honolulu Auto zone and he said it came stock with Brembos so I though but haven't checked that it was an option with posi
but I bought it for parts complete running but he said all the air bags were deployed and insurance paid him off

 

The previous owner is wrong and/or lied to you.

 

so automatics didn't come with Brembos ?

Look to see if JL9 is in your RPO list on the sticker in the glovebox.

The code is for 4 wheel disc brakes, standard on the SS


J56 was the code for the heavy duty (Brembo) brakes
