Saw my first SS today (Other than mine LOL)
And of course it was a black one also!
Have to admit it was cool to be behind it for a while to do the "see how my car looks from a angle other than behind the wheel" thing. Was kinda cool, especially since it was a carbon copy of mine
At least in stock form. Mind you , i do not have a lot of extreme mods (
yet) but i have enuf to notice the difference 'tween the two SS's .
The biggest one i noticed was the lack of red "SS's" (almost forgot mine came w/ white ones LOL)No factory splash guards either.And the gold bowties kinda stuck out to my eyes too.(black overlay front/back on mine)
Got a few minor mods in the future planned (3rd brake lite flasher came in the mail today, and the shortie antenna will prob show up tomorrow
)The anti-theft red "SS" valve stem covers were installed last week,and i really noticed how my car looked when the front side windows were not tinted to match the factory tint also.
The other SS just kinda changed lanes in front of me (casually) and i said to myself "about dang time!"
(have not seen another SS other than mine in person until today,not even @ a dealership )It was from Indiana also, dunno if it was a auto or 5 spd either. Since everyone was doing 70 (inna 55)in 4 lanes o' traffic, i really did not want to chance doing much more than checking it out while behind it for the short period of time (it snuck into a pre-exit lane to change highways,so i continued on and did the same a good deal ahead of it, so i did not see it after that
I wonder if they noticed mine, or being that mine was mod'd enuf for another SS owner to notice pretty easily or not.Woulda been nice to be able to do the knowing nod to each other or whatever the HHR SS acknowledgment of the day is, or even be able to chat a while with this owner(and point him/her to this forum too
)
Oh well, i had my "saw another SS " day today and thought i would share

That's cool. I've only ever seen 1 other HHR SS, and I thought it looked really good rolling past and zipping around a corner. After 4 months, I still turn around and check out my SS almost every time I park it

It's all good and glad I was able to see almost half a dozen SS's yesterday in red, silver, black and the elusive aqua blue AA5 'smurfinator' in person--parked right behind me!

@ngelita...just hit 12K and still loving my Blackie...
Why, thank you for the compliment. I now have advertising on my brake light. That is so people will know who or what just passed them. Or, in case of a stop sign or traffic light, who is about to leave them far behind. Of course I'll have to tap the brake in order to show it off.
And I do believe the word is getting out on the SS and you will begin to see many more on the road. Now, if GM or Chevrolet in particular would just advertise them on the TV.

I saw an awesome SS the other day, and it looked a lot like mine. Then I realized that it was my wife driving my SS around the block to get it back in into the driveway once we got our travel trailer put away.
