So I bought a 2009 HHR SS to tour RT66

I bought the Red 2009 HHR SS 140xxx mile with a 5 speed so my son and I can do my bucket list to tour of RT 66. in June 2026 So far I had a new ZZP muffler installed , I am presently getting the o2 sensor move to the correct location ( behind the cat) I bought a used dash cluster and ambient light sensor because the dash cluster lights up dim, and the head lights are on all the time. I found the engine is leaking oil, as soon as the snow melts I will find out where the leak is and address it. I was told the engine was replaced and rebuilt with a 80K engine miles engine. It has coil overs and it looks like it was lowered, All new wheel bearings and control arms. I am also fixing the car to enter in car shows and try and keep it running with hope it last another 10 years to make it a classic.

There are 2 O2 sensors 1 before 1 after the cat. On a SS the 1 before is special.
The DRLs are low beams all the time the trans is in gear.
the lights in the cluster vary by ambient light.
If you replace the I/P you need to match the VIN with the BCM. Because the odometer data stored is in the BCM.

Owner manuals and shop manuals are available via the links in my sig.

The dash lights might be a problem with the brightness potentiometer in the waterfall above the radio.

I got a new sensor, I am just waiting for the snow to melt here in NJ.
