SS lsd limited slip?
I have to admit that I kind of believe him I guess because the car that I bought the day of my high school graduation (skipped the ceremony and bought a chevy) was a 69 impala with a 327
with an open non posi 2.73 rear. It went mid to high 17's stock
a few years later I ended up building a 400 hp 350 .501 lift 292 magnum comp cam 9:1 compression smog heads good intake 4777 holley hp 650 dp
use to run it on the street with mickey thompson I treads (really dating myself now)
any how I put in a darrel young 4000 stahl converter
and the best part was the horn mounted switch for the 250-300hp nitrous unit.90/10 shocks front minus the sway bar to let the weight transfer.
This car hooked very well with that combo basicially the converter would not lock up at all until about 60 foot out.
I could easily out hook a posi car with regular bias ply tires on it
Anyhow I would show mid twelves at the track but the car was then bumped up a little more and it was a high 11 low low 12 on the street.
but I do understand we are talking front wheel drive so a video or something a little more positive for hhr ss run of high 12 would be nice.
Below is my brothers black Firebird on a high 9 second pass
first day out tubbed had it go easy 9.00000's @150 a month or so after
made a great street car with unheard of times in our area back in the early 90's we both spent a ton of time on that one.
any how belows link alos is a 12.60 pass (dialed a 12.80 against a 14 second 5.0 mustang and intentionally redlighted never did like to go too many rounds makes for a long day).

Guess I would like to believe in the 12 second auto HHR and hope its true I sure dont need to get bitten by the bug to try and do it some day.

Yes Father. Not fair. I used to race bikes, and I know waht you can get out of them. Last street bike was a VFR 750, that I had bo-co's of money in, and it would run high 11's, low 12's. Lost my sand for that, after I turned mid fifties, so sold my street and dirt bikes. Nice looking bike. "Moon"
12 seconds and one wheel brought the bike to mind, and I have a tendency to be a bit of a verbal smart ass. I've spent so much making it pretty that I don't track it. I don't need the Surfer to do 12's, I'd be happy to have more from 2-4k since that's where I do most of my driving.
G85 AXLE LIMITED SLIP, FWD LIMITED SLIP FWD AXLE(G85)
I could only find the video below in my signature, of me running low 13's on street tires, from 2 years ago.
Spinning the tires on every single run, with street tires. I believe 13.08 was my best ET that day.
MPH was all over the place, because of no traction, with street tires.
I just ran across this video a few weeks ago, while searching another HHR SS video.
The only reason that guy filmed, & posted this on YouTube, is because he saw me run 110+ mph the run before, he just found it so unbeliveable, that an automatic HHR SS could go over 110MPH, & 13.0's, on street tires.
You guys are funny, you should really be questioning 110+ mph, as that's harder to do, with an HHR SS automatic, then going into the 12's.
If you understand how hard it is to go over 110mph in a HHR auto, you will than understand the power that I'm making.
MoonShine, if you have been around racing a long time , than you should understand what a boosted launch is. A boosted launch with a Turbo automatic is so so sweet. Ask anyone with a Turbo Buick about a boosted launch, & watch the smile on their face. Has anyone here ever even seen a Turbo Buick at the track taking off from the line with a boosted launch, it's such a sweet thing.
I can hold 10psi @ 2,800rpm at the line, with drag radials, resulting in sub 2 second 60' times.
Also guys, listen to the other automatic HHR SS on this forum, & in this thread, tell about laying down 2 strips of rubber, or look at my burnout in the video below. I can really 'cook' them..., yes, both of them.
Also I don't think alot of you understand the power that can be made in an LNF with a 50/50 mix of E85/gas.
I'm getting 30-40hp increase from E47.5 alone, with only the mods in my Sig
You will see some other HHR SS in the 12's this year, Joe Schulte, for sure, as he has a good plan.
You stick shift guys don't have it this easy, without a preloaded drivetrain, with a boosted launch
So a video, showing low 13's, + a timeslip, showing 110mph, from 2 years ago on 10/23/10, & a timeslip from a year
later, with a better 'tune', & drag radials, showing sub 2 second 60' & 12.86 ET.
Why the disbelief, with an HHR SS automatic doing this ???
Here's a 110mph timeslip from the day, 10/23/2010, that video in my signature was shot.
The YouTube video shows it was posted the same day, 10/23/2010, also
Also another time slip one year later on drag radials, 87+mph at half track, is awesome too.

Where do these guys get that 12.80's are impossible in a hhr? Keep up the good work 2005HHRauto!
PS: where does it say that you need a posi to run 12's? lol
my 67 impala ss smallblock was running mid 12's with a one leg 10 bolt 28 years ago!
