This picture was taken before I blacked out the bow ties. I will have to snap another picture of my SS with the black bow ties and post it. G.B.

Well I don't have one to photograph yet, but the HHR SS will be my next car. I wrote to Bob Lutz to see if Chevy would sell it in Hot Rod Yellow, and they did look into it but he wrote back and said since HHR's have to share paint lines with other cars, none of them would ever be offered in that color.

Too bad.
Talk about a headturner.

One bad thing about yellow is in the spring they attract bugs. I am not kidding ask any yellow Vette owner.

I would have bought a yellow SS in a heartbeat. Think of all the short bus comments you would get!

True that yellow attract bugs.......I've had one yellow blazer and 2 yellow s-10's. I had to spray OFF on mine at one carshow since it was on a baseball field. But our white HHR attracts bugs also. IMO white and yellow should be added to the SS paint line. But with yellow during pollen season it just blends right in.

I guess no one will have to worry about the bugs, unless they have theirs custom painted. Lutz all but assured me that Chevy will never paint any HHR's yellow.
