I would not worry about that one as that will never happen. If it did new cars will be 7 figures then.

The way things are going in 20 years thats ALL they may be..a collectors item..to be displayed, not driven. With the changes being made and the push for electric, BIO and Alki, and who knows what else is in the works, pure gas cars may be a thing of the past...
Price will always be dependent on demand.....the ricer crowd don't even recognize this car and they will be the ones buying.....

I've owned my 2008 HHR SS in sunburst orange 5 speed manual for over a year now. During that time, I've only seen one other SS; I live in Pa and I saw one in Virginia. I'm selling my old restored truck to garage my SS. I know it may never be a very valuable car, but I like being the only person in my whole town with one. I also like when people call it a pu$$y car and I then leave them like they are sitting still lol. I can't wait for my down pipe and tune to arrive!

Hhr SS Panel.

The HHR SS Panel only had 216 units built. Making it a super ULTRA rare car.

Two things effect rare in collector terms. One is low production and by low I mean 1200 or less. Second that effects rare is demand. There are many cars that there may only be 5 of them but if there are only 3 people wanting them there is really no demand.

Rare also get confused with value too. There again supply and demand effects this. No supply and large demand like a Shelby it effects the price. As for like say a 84 Fiero Pace car there was 1251 were built and they still trade for around $10-12K for a low milage model.

I would say the HHR SS will retain its value better than most average cars and will be the HHR to have in the future but that is not to say you will retire on it.

If there really is a rare HHR it will be a Panel and half panel SS. These are really low production numbers and they will have enough demand to comand a higher than normal price.

My advice is drive it and enjoy it and don't mget any crazy value ideas. Everyone wants the next rare Hemi or COPO Chevy but the key is most cars today are not going to see that value. Cars like this will be something like the 2011 ZR1 or Z06 with some of the rare options. But for the most even the Camaro and Mustang leavel little to be called rare.

One of the best collector values now is the Turbo V6 TA Pace Car. It was low production and has performance and appeal to become a rare collector but you can still get a good buy.
