the SS ripoff
I was going to get into a SS. I built one on the GM website.
CONS: no leather/heated seats extra for a good music system (standard on LT2 ) I'll go for a SOLSTICE GXP !! later/ rNr/mike |

Just traded in a Solstice GXP with 3346 miles in on my new HHR SS in BFM color. Solstice was very nice and a little quicker cause it weighs 300 # less but the SS is just breaking in. I love the LNF turbo motor and bought the GXP for it but when the HHR SS became available with same motor ( and available tunes for now), I was an easy sell cause of the room to carry sooo much more than GXP. turbofreak Take a look at picture of DashHawk plot of GXP data showing boost (purple) line showing about 200 kpa which is 15 psi boost, same as what I am seeing today on HHR SS. |

hmmmm. not happy with the interior options so you go for a completely different kind of vehicle. sounds like you weren't really interested in an HHR in the first place.

oh well... since he already has one, then im sure he'll enjoy the convertible. im sure the dealers are throwing in the stereo in Harrisburg this time of year.

I think that the SS is the best buy on the HHR. I looked at LT2's that were nearly the same price similarly equiped but didn't have the wheels, tires, stance, handling or horsepower. I also think that the mesh and suede with red trimmed seats look awesome and are more comfortable than the leather seats. To me the SS is a no brainer unless you want to save your money with a low optioned model.

Well, if you take a low-end SS and add aftermarket seat heaters and a kickin' stereo, you're still going to spend less money than on the GXP. Since you already have the HHR, you may want the GXP just to drive something different, though.

If you don't like what's offered you can always buy something that makes you happy. As for me, it's the whole package that I like and unless I built the whole car myself (see avatar) I'll settle for a few minor gripes.
