This topic comes up every year, so there is lots of info here. My opinion as an experienced driver who skis a lot too. Yes you can make it around without snows, not so much with stock tires. Snows will give you better traction and control. Some 17s will fit with Brembos, it's not just diameter, but distance from the face of the brakes to the backside of the rim. Having snows also saves wear and salty tear on your stock rims and a little more tire time.

Welcome to the site. I live in Canada, we can get lots of the white stuff and I've only ever used the factory Michelins. No issues and have never got stuck.

get rid of the stock tires, they are bad in the wet, spin easily & horrible in the snow. i'm in northern chicago suburbs. get goodyear tires!

Goodyear GT's got me though a pretty good snow storm from Buffalo to Pittsburgh but now I run 16's with a set of inexpensive snows. Runs like a champ but don't expect the same handling on dry. The ESC will kick in if you corner too hard due to the extra roll in the sidewall.

The stock Michelin's are garbage.

You should be fine. They seldom plowed my street where I used to live and I never had an issue getting out or in.

Just watch for piles of frozen ice or snow as it could damage the nose air dam or IC.

We used GTs on the GTP and they were just fine and the wife never had an issue. Normally they are a pretty good price too from the Tire Rack.

Good to hear that they perform well in the snow. And I'll second the performance of these tires when the roads are wet.

Same here, but my winters have been pretty mild recently. If the weather is bad enough, I'll take my 4WD Avalanche out instead.
