Are SS transmissions different?

Unhappy Are SS transmissions different?

Hi guys i got a SS HHR with a bad manual transmission looking for a replacement are these compatible with other HHR manual transmissions or do you have to replace them with an SS transmission? Thanks

Final gear ratio is the main factor. Gearing in the the trans is all the same ratio.

No. F35 is the trans. There's an error in the wiki.

Saab developed it. GM's FWD Manual Trans efforts were non-existent. This was a "use the Saab one or buy one" decision for the SS.

Yes, they are different.
The SS uses the Saab F35 (RPO code MU3 in the glovebox )
The LS, LT's use the Getrag F23 (RPO code M86 in the glovebox )

Those 2 transmissions will not be a direct interchange. You will need to find a Saab F35 to replace it with.

So a Saab transmission is in these so i could use one from a Saab vehicle as long as the ones on the list are used and they should bolt up as long as it is an F35?

I just realized mines a 2008 so mine may be a different number and not an F35?

It shows on the list 2008 to 2010 HHR SS used the F35
