SS underhood temps
Hey Moon,
At the track, I've seen guys loading the engine bay with Ice! No bull. took me by suprise first time I saw a guy doing it. I don't think it was smart but what do I know.
I suggest a battery charger, a power converter, one or two extra batteries, and a fan, for cooling between runs. This type of carpet fan is great for cooling from the side. It's your exhaust snd turbo bleeding sll that heat, ya gotta get air in there, and if my middle school science is correct, hot air rises. try one of these, tucked at a 45, or add a deflector since your lowered. these things blow a lot of cfm, and if you want to get anal about it, add some dry ice into the plenumn.

Not having a problem with heat enought to go with the blower route. My hood scoop is venting into engine compartment, and it's lowered my undehood temps, and intake now has cooler air. What I've got is working for me, so I'll leave it like it is. "Moon"
Yep, stick with what works...
I always have an infrared thermometer on me when I'm doing any racing or testing. Keeping notes and things such as heat soak for one are apparent before mechanical problems result.

The duct in my hood doesn't introduce fresh air into the engine bay....it removes it at speed by creating a vacuum while driving....the lowered section of the hood is 70 degrees hotter than the surrounding sheet metal after a run. And it continues to vent heat after shutdown.....ie helping with the heatsoak. The duct opening is just behind the radiator cote support. Ill post some more pics in the gallery.

Very nice work. Looks cool.
I would say removing these two items . 90 seconds of time , Will remove more hot air at speed , And allow to vent while the car sits.
Throw some well placed holes in the hood, For added results.

Highside: Like what you did with the duct. Thats gotta work.
If you look at the lower sides of the hood, it vents engine compartment air out the L/R lower sides of the hood. The duct I'm sure helps that along a lot. "Moon"
