TWM short throw shifter is on the way...

Ordered yesterday, UPS says it will be here in 2 more days. Now that's service Canada to Hawaii in 3 days...not bad, can't wait to get it installed and get rid of my palm scratcher knob!

I just installed mine Monday. Big difference. Only thing I don't like is the aluminum knob. Looks good but in the cold weather your hand will freeze. I need to find one made of plastic for the winter.

Or put an old sock over it. :D

Is that shifter a standard threaded knob? A white Hurst ball as pictured below would look nice, if you're a geezer like me.

I'd be happy with a white Hurst ball. Used to have them on a few cars. The ball for the TWM shifter has to accomodate the reverse lockout. A standard ball won't work.

Yes. I just got off their site, and it looks like a standard threaded ball is out. Their standard M1-A1 ball isn't bad looking at all, and it is made from aluminum, I wonder if they can anodize it? I have the interior with red accents, so a red anodized ball might look kind of spiffy. An unfinished aluminum ball wouln't stay nice for very long.

A nice, bright red powdercoat would match your accents better than anodizing, cheaper, too! :thumb:

I have an Aluminum shift knob on mine and it is really cold also. I bought a Momo one off of Ebay with a leather cover on it.

I'm in Hawaii for 3 years...won't worry about it yet, But I have the SOM HHRSS and will be drilling out and threading a 13 and a 5 pool ball (both orange) to see how they look. Should resist the cold a little better?

If anyone is looking for a non metal shift ball, go to fireball.com. They can make one for the TWM short throw shifter.
