Values for '08 HHR SS

Greetings everyone. New to this forum but looking at a possible trade for a red '08 SS. I'm trying to get a real world value for this wagon I'm looking at. It's a 2008 with 100K and a 5 speed. He says it's dealer maintained and in near mint condition. Possibly trading for my 1979 Corvette (estimated value of $7,000). I don't see many SS's for sale but a bunch of LS models whose average price with similar miles going in the $5,000 range.

If I trade for this SS and decide not to keep it, what can I expect to get on the re-sale market? Thanks for any input.

Welcome to the site! As we say it will sell for what ever the check doesn't bounce for, but it all depends on the market when you want to sell it! You might get more in the spring then in the winter!
Clean and shiny Arrest me red! The right add ons! Will get more then a faded but I just washed it, water spotted faded red won't get you anywhere!
So my rule of thumb is drive it , the SS will tell you if it likes you or not!! What channel out for the hook!!!

Welcome. You won't get as much as you paid for it unfortunately . Only certain people are interested in our type of cars. You either love em or hate em.

That's the truth - and unless it's an SS, people don't want to pay you much for them since there are so many LS/LT models flooding the used car market.

location, color, options, mileage and condition.
I bought a 09 Victory red auto SS with 51k almost 2 years ago.
two performance seats
single CD player
sunroof
ignition recall performed
stubby antenna
9.8/10 condition
certified GM used w/ 3 year warranty

it's got 62k on it now, and it's in cleaner condition that when I bought it...and it's worth the same as I bought it for back then (dealer sticker is the same as it was back then)

they dont drop much in value until the mileage gets up there.

at least in my area

Looks like pricing is holding steady at carmax,

Mine came from there with 52K and I paid 15K for mine and that was almost 2 years ago

Damn, 2 HHR SS's sold in one day. There was 5 now only 3.

Yes CarMax is not the cheapest @The Muffin Man but its one of the easiest ways to find HHR SS's, and they can be shipped from anywhere to your local CarMax by making just a phone call. They are considered a no hassle you type of dealership so you don't get to negotiate much as well.

I don't feel they are overpriced.

I looked at probably 5 different SS's from different dealers when I purchased mine and all of them were beat up or the price was too good to be true and 1 was salvaged/rebuilt. The one I got looks brand new on the inside. Few minor scratches in the paint but you wouldn't notice them unless I pointed them out.

I got mine for 15K and that was including the bumper to bumper warranty for 5yr/125K miles

Also on trade the were the highest offer compared to local dealers.
