I went to get a set of splash guards from the dealer for my 09 SS and they said that the molded guards with the hhr logo (12499528) would not fit. they told me that only the (19213384) splash guards would fit. is this because of the ss body molding ?

 

You can make the molded ones fit with a little light trimming. on the front two flaps.

The rear need to be bolted on a little lower but they will go on with no triming. In fact I taught the guy at the body show where I bought mine it worked and they now have offer it to later SS buyers.

The dealer only knows what the book tells him and it says non SS only. But here we have learned with the triming they work fine.

With the SS going away soon I would not wait for them to make a set. Odds are we have all we are going to get from GM for the SS.

A lot of us here have done this mod and it is not hard.

Note I also recomend use black silicone between the flap and fender as a gasket. It keeps the dirt and rocks from strating the steel on the fender. It also give it more strength and a firmer fit.

 

Thanks, i will take this email to the dealer when i go today. I am having them install them as well as the vent visors and the protective piece that goes on top of the rear bumper.
