Who else is glad they have the original A-pillar dial boost guage?

I specifically looked for a 2008 or 2009 SS.

Does anybody else think that the boost/gforce gauge on the newer SS models on top of the dash looks out of place, out of sync with the rest of the styling being so boxy and digital instead of a needle?

The G Force meter is a cool feature but almost more of a gimmick unless you are actually racing all the time n even if you are you're going to be feeling a car not looking at the meter

It just looks like the GM engineers didn't know what else to add to the car so they took something left over from a 1990s Grand Prix prototype. I also did not want to lose the storage. Not bashing anybody that likes it just wondered if other people thought the same thing.

I wish mine had the boost gauge on the pillar. My first one did. I would much rather have the storage. Most of the features are redundant or unneeded anyway. If I could swap, I would.

If you have the boost gauge on the pillar it looks better. But, thats all you have: a boost gauge.
If you have the RPD, then you have a whole list of functions.
Everything from boost to tire pressure,air/fuel ratio, G force meter, horsepower and torque readings, etc.etc.etc.
I didn't really care for the RPD at first, but now I wouldn't give it up.

yeah a couple of those functions are interesting. I just think the design and integration was not well planned.

I agree
The dgital readout and placement just does not flow well in my opinion witht the whole theme of the car appearing as an older car theme.
Besides
Anyone with a smart phone can download the torque app and buy a blutooth obdii adapter and get all the info they need and then some

You can't change the face on a rpd.

Actually, you can. Different color theme and gauge arrangements can be set in the RPD menu.

If they would have incorporated it in a less weird looking manner and kept the storage I would have definitely looked for one with it

Yes, that is your opinion. My thought: having a cheap looking pop-up storage bin on top of the dash....no thanks. Not for me. I don't need the storage and surely don't miss it.

Everyone has their opinion. No one is right or wrong on this one.

That is the one and only reason I did not by a 10. I do not like that thing sticking up out of the middle of the dash. I understand the benefits it offers but dam I just can’t get over the way it looks and again if we all liked the same it would be a very dull boring world wouldn't it.
