Winter Tires, eek
Tirerack
6 x 6.5" steelies
205/60R Blizzaks
+ $93 shipping! for a grand total of $672!
I don't mind the price for the rims and tires but i thought I got free shipping when I ordered tires from them a few years back.
Anybody have any discount codes or anything?
My tire guy can get the Blizzaks but not the rims.
Any help?
Hate to say it, but I wonder if WallyWorld would have anything like that

I was looking at Tirerack as well, but by the time you figure shipping, local installation, balancing, valves (they love to sell you them), etc. I just don't see how you're money ahead.
Am in the process of buying 4 235/50/17s studded for a total of about $600 which includes everything (no road hazzard or valves). Tax included at that price.
Admitedly, I am using my 17" rims, which some would argue that the salt isn't good for them, but I really like my car to look good 12 months a year and I just don't like the looks of steelees.
Tires are Firestone Winterforce, and while some may not like the Firestone name, there are few tires in 17" available as studdable, I guess because of the low profile.
Also, I have had really good luck with the standard Firestones that came on my car. Have 18,000 on them and if I rotate in the spring, I should get another 15,000 off them.
By the way, if you're saying "eek", me too... I have to buy a complete set for my Oldsmobile Aurora for another $600..."eek2"

The local tire shop quoted me $112 installed per tire for the Blizzacks but he can't get the steelies.
Tirerack has been cheaper since I can install myself, but the shipping and stuff is B.S.
Price on the tires and rims are fine, I'm used to buying tires for my other cars at $300/each

I totally agree there. I was patient and was watching Graigslist for the last several weeks... I landed (4) 16" alloy wheels that were used for just one season ($150) & tonight I picked up (4) 225-55-16 Blizzak W60 tires that were used for less than 60 miles! ($250) I am almost looking forward to the snow now to try them out!
It just takes a little patience to wait out the right deals and you have to be ready to jump on them when they surface. I'll post pics of my new shoes once I get them on. Good luck shopping!
