Hello
Hello
I just bought a 2011 hhr after owning a 2007 since new. I liked the car even with its issues and it has a few.my question is: have there been any improvements since 2007? Brakes, suspension just to mention a few.
to the forum terryb44!Well lets see, since I'm in the unique position of having a 2006, 2007, and a 2011 all at the same time.
Things they have improved, they moved the window switches to the doors, which drives me crazy when I go from the "old" ones to the "new" one. The rubber diaphragm/membrane on the cowl which leaks like mad on some '06's and early '07's is gone. And they did improve the sealing of the door skins at the bottom which caused some rust issues on the earlier models in the "rust belt" states. Plus VVT engines and Flex-Fuel capability if you live where E-85 is sold.
Things that are the same, terrible tires from the factory, rear brake self adjusters that don't self adjust leading to warped front rotors and the dreaded "HHR brake judder". Sway bar end links that will eventually get noisy, sway bar bushings that will do the same thing, and the other odd and endearing HHR quirks that crop up.
Now don't let that second paragraph fool you, I love my HHR's, wouldn't give them up for anything. All three run like Swiss watches and so far they've accumulated 231,780 trouble free miles.
