Hello from the edge of nowhere

Hi,

My name is Woody and about to take possession of an 09 SS Panel. Last new car I bought was in '80 when I bought a Lancia Zagato. The only other new car I've owned was a '65 Chevelle SS.

If you're doing the math by now you know that I'm 62 but unlike most people my age I'm still a kid at heart.

Looking forward to a new toy and being an active member of this community.

Woody

Hey Woody! Welcome and congrats on the 09 SS Panel! That is one nice ride. What color is it going to be, and when do you expect delivery? Make sure and post some pictures when she arrives!

Yes, that is a long time to go in between new cars! 15-29 years! Those both are nice cars for sure! I shouldn't be laughing though, as I am 48 and this SS is my first new care ever. I was always in the 2-4 year old used car market.

Are you actually from the Czech Republic? A good friend of mine who just retired from work is originally from there. Looking forward to hearing more of your HHR adventures! :thumb:

Welcome Woody

About to turn 62 myself in May and my 1st new car was a 65 Chevelle SS 327/300hp purple - maybe it was called Iris Mist with white interior. I toasted the motor in a few months and did a crate Corvette 327/350 but still wouldn't keep up with the 396's that came out in force in 66. Instead of the purple I did come close to buying a new rare 65 Chevelle SS with 396/375? (maybe more) but it was a little too radical for my parents who had to co-sign the loan. Sorry for going on but seeing another owner of a new 65 Chevelle SS really causes the memories to flow.

Very cool, you will have fun with it. I have a friend who is in his early 80's and teaches high performance driving skills (including CHP students), my brother is in his mid 60's and can outride many younger folks on his Sportbike at Laguna Seca, so don't pretend you are old at 62.
