Just bought our first HHR

We just bought our first HHR. Its a 2006 LT, 167000 miles, in great shape, a few bumps and scratches but we're working on it. The grill is peeling so I ordered a new black mesh one, should be in by the 30th. We spent a few days doing a deep clean. Carpets came somewhat clean but I got Weather tech floor mats that really makes it look nice.

It goes to the mechanic this week to get checked out and have the oil changed. So we'll know better what needs to be done on the engine side after that.

We definitely have to fix the wind screen, we've read the fixes from this forum and think that will be an easy enough fix.

I'm enjoying reading your post and appreciate you accepting me in. I love my new HHR and am enjoying cleaning it up.

Happy driving!
Jana

:welcome1:Welcome to the forum.
I too have an '06 w/166k on the odometer.
Other than normal maintanance she (Toughie) has been a darn good vehicle.
Enjoy the ride and visit often. Oh, and we love pictures.

Thanks, I'm hoping for just normal maintenance too, but we are enjoying looking at fun things we can do to get. H(name is "Her Royal Highness" HRH, I can't help that they put her initials on in the wrong order.) The only problem is I can't decide if I call her a car, a truck, or a wagon. Truck seems to roll off the tongue, but we already have a truck so that is confusing. Oh well, it will all work out eventually.

Have a great day - and week.
Jana

Many here are partial to trucklet.

When you get the grille be very careful installing the studs you transfer from your OEM grille, the holes are a little in the small size , I broke the lower right mount tab , I should have drilled out the hole 1 size larger, but it will look cool.

these trucklets are addictive, you will want more, different styles , different years, they just inspire the hot rodder in us!

Thanks, we'll watch for that. Appreciate the advice. Do you know if they made any HHRs with manual transmissions?

Oldblue 06-28-2020 04:32 PM

Yes they did, in window , panel and half panel, 5 speed in the 2.0 Turbo in the SS.
and 2.2 and 2.4 in the LS/LT trim
