New guy thread

Months ago a strange vehicle passed me on the highway, at first I though it was a PT cruiser, but when I saw the blanked out side panels and a botwtie on the trunk I got curious. 2 months later my work horse (awd gmc cargosafari/ astrovan) started having some serious issues , I looked in to this "hhr" and sure enough I found a dark blue panel for sale not more than 10 miles away, now I do 60+ Miles per day and the van has been killing me, being a carpenter I need all my tools with me, I never leave tools on site around the city I work in, I test drove it in the pouring rain and fell in love, can't wait to pick her up tomorrow pics to come ( need to rip those stupid seat organizers out) and make this the 25+ mpg workhorse I need look foward to meeting you all :thumb:

Well congratulations on your decision and ultimate purchase.

You should get at least 25 MPG, depending on your driving habits, load and terrain. And depending on your tool requirements you might be able to squeeze everything in that you need......going from the Astro to this is a little bit of a downsize and the need for a little rear suspension work MIGHT be needed, because of weight.

Keep us informed and WELCOME to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. Just rember that you can fold down the passenger seat and get 8 foot lumber inside and close the hatch. I know cause I have done it. You should have seen the look on the guy's face when I pulled up to load some 1x2s. I said it will fit. I was telling a guy I know about it and he said he couldn't do that with his full size Explorer. Enjoy your ride.
