New HHR owner

I picked up a used 06 Victory Red HHR yesterday. been cleaning it / detailing it on and off since last night. Figures it would rain tonight. Trying to learn some things about this particular Chevy. Thought a forum was a great place to start. Couple of questions have come up. There appears to be a light between the sun visors in the headliner. I am wondering if it is to show where the window buttons are at. Also, why is there a black panel right below the front bumper. Think it would look better if it was color matched. After some searching, I did finally find the battery. It definately wasn't where I thought it might be. It didn't come with an owner's manual, so I got one from Ebay coming. Hopefully it will fill in some of the gaps. I plan to order a service manual soon.

Welcome to the forum, the black panel I don't know about but the light seemed strange to me as well but at night checking your slips at the races comes in pretty handy!

that black panel I was mentioning is right below where the front license plate would go.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good info here to help you out.

Yes we all have the ugly black piece on the front bumper. I'm gunna paint mine as some wax has turned it white.

Cool. didn't know how much info was available on this site. Another question, where is the jack supposed to be. I haven't located it yet. I got a funny feeling that it and the lug wrench is missing.
