New Owner in Texas

Hello all!

I'm the proud owner of a 2006 HHR 2LT, purchased about 4 months ago. I've been browsing the forums quite a bit now and figured I'd introduce myself and my car.

I bought my HHR off of the used car lot at a local BMW dealership. When I found out that it had only 47K miles on it I became VERY interested. I had to wait a few days while they fixed a ding in the right front fender and a few scratches on the front bumper before I could buy it. Totally worth the wait.

It has the 2LT package and almost all other options. The main exception is OnStar, which I probably wouldn't have used anyways.

The sunroof wind deflector broke after about 6 weeks. That's when I found out that it is a quite common problem. I was bummed because I really enjoyed having it open. I'm going to put an aftermarket wind deflector on it but still haven't decided which one is the one to go with.

A week after the sunroof "broke", a big truck backed into my drivers door at a gas station. That *really* bummed me out, but insurance took care of everything and now looks as good as new.

It's a blast to drive and perfect for my dogs. It's quite a change from the POS Buick Rendezvous it replaced. It sips gas compared to the Rendezvous, which is a big plus.

And now, the photos!

So that's my story and my HHR. I love it!

I love that you guys refer to it as a "Trucklet". After I bought it I found it difficult describing what an HHR was to some people, telling them "It kinda looks like a little orange station wagon."

Once they've seen it, I've had a few friends say to me "Oh, it's just a PT Cruiser!" Wow... Talk about a slap in the face, ya know?

Cheers

Absolutely perfect looking machine. Enjoy some road trips!

Here's a post on how another member fixed the sunroof economically.
