Oh no, a newbie! (also looking for a tiny part)

Hi everyone! After drooling over HHRs for some time, especially after a couple of my friends got them, I was finally able to get the one I wanted. :)

Before I jump feet first into the rest of the forum discussion, I have one question over one stupid little part that's driving me crazy. In the dash storage compartment, what do you call those little rubber footies that are just inside on either side of the latch? I'm missing one and I have no idea what to call it in order to find a replacement. The compartment is a little sticky on opening, so maybe having that might help? If nothing else, it will help my slight OCD about symmetry. I did hear about the recall from sometime back and there's no chance of this thing popping open while I drive. Trust me.

Also, blanket thanks to everyone who posted about spare keys. I just ordered a blank from eBay and can't wait to get it cut and programmed.

I have loads to learn here, no doubt.

Do you mean the center storage under the windshield, or the glovebox?

Just to avoid confusion, the part you're looking for is #42 on the diagram below, correct?

Those are the little rubber bumpers to which you're referring.

If my HHR (Paddy) in this case, wasn't across the street in the parking garage, I'd post up a pic there Sam....but in this case a diagram will have to do as Exhibit A. You know us lawyers like diagrams.

Diagrams are cool. :) And thanks, everyone!

Yes, it's #42 on that diagram. It's the storage on top of the dash, where most folks are installing XM radio and GPS modules. I'd run out and take a picture, but I'm at work right now, so not an option till later this evening.

I'll have to take some decent photos of Buster and share. It's an '06 LT with the 2.4L engine (if memory serves) and it's the perfect shade of blue for me. (I call it "TARDIS blue" because I'm a Doctor Who geek, what can I say?)

Thanks for the warm welcome!
