From socal with love

Hello guys / gals / peeps,

im just a guy thats looking for a HHR, car is still new to me. But I think the panel versions look real good like 50's milk truck good. Or surfer wagon good. A very classic look.

Anyways just trolling your site since I found it for all the good information on it. Found this place by searching google for install rear seat in panel. GREAT write up. Its weird that you guys are having problems finding panels, they seem to be all over in my area. Also seems its cheaper to get a panel, then mod it up with a rear seat. than it is to just buy a regular one with windows.

Anywho thanks for the love, and the good information.

Welcome from the SE, & Panels Rule man !!!

The LS Panels come at lower cost.

You start getting a 1LT or the most loaded 2LT, & they are fetching more..

LS= Base HHR
1LT = next step up
2LT = Fully loaded.
SS = the hot rod hhr.

AH! So the LS is just the cheapo one. Do they make a PANEL SS ? or is that more of a home brew?

I have been reading up on some of the how to articles. MAN you guys are awesome, so much modding going on. I keep going back and forth in my head on which one would be better for me. The PANEL is just insanely awesome. But with the work involved is it really worth the savings. I just dont know as I have 2 kids and need to have that back seat.

Question, how do you open the back doors on a panel truck stock?

Yes there is a factory SS panel. BUT,,,they were only made in 2009 and there was only about 216 produced.

I Too LIKE " Anthony" really really liked the Panel - In Fact in my searches just on Auto Trader alone came across at least a couple SS Panels - Had I know there were only 216 made - I'd of probably pushed alittle more to get one wow, thats a low number? Thanks for the info, just goes to show that THE HHR SS Panels are rare - Thanks for the education.....:twothumbs:

Many have installed rear seats & seat belts, straight bolt in deal..

As to how to open the side doors on Panels, in 2007 you have 2 buttons on the dash, L & R, they are door poppers. & inside (on all Panels) are handles to open from inside.

Starting in 2008, you also had buttons on the key fob, so you could remotely pop open the door..

LS, I wouldn't say cheap-o.. Just more of a blank canvas to modify your way..

My 2008 2LT panel is one of only 266...

Happy hunting..
