Stumbled upon an HHR, and here I am
Very long story short, I was gifted an 06 HHR 2.4 LT and it was in, a condition, i guess for better lack of words. I have never in my life before this worked on a car in any way, but life had a way of forcing me to learn new things.
All it took, was for me to say out loud "I mean, how hard could replacing the Brakes and Rotors be?" to hear someone say "You've never worked on a car" in a mocking tone for me to see that as a challenge.
I have now since then, changed the control arms on my own, changed the thermostat, replaced the shocks, fixed the sunroof, and a few other bits and pieces.
I have now come to a fork in the road.
I recently got a Boss audio system BV9358B . And I have zero idea how to install this without messing some things up electrically.
On top of that, the seats and floors desprately need to be replaced (Leather seats). So, I'm not sure how strict the community is here but, I hope you can forgive a man for asking some dumb questions lol
Hope to talk to ya'll soon =) (Sooner or later i'll upload the before and after photos of everything)

Welcome to the site! You can ask us anything about your HHR.
as for the radio head unit, Crutchfield has a selection of adapters so you can install that head unit and keep the chimes and the rest of the features.

The first link has pics of reupholstering the seats.
There is a link in my sig to FREE manuals. There are special procedures when it comes to the passenger presence system.

You'll need something like this to make the install easy and have it integrate with the car:

I tried to find if that Boss unit is compatible, but I failed. You might ask Crux or Crutchfield what you'll need. If you can return it, you might also consider buying everything from Crutchfield so you get their installation instructions and support.

Why replace the radio? Not because the current radio is making no sound, I hope. Because if that’s the case, there’s probably nothing wrong with the radio and it’s usually the speaker. And the stock radio is better quality than the Boss.
