2.0L Ecotec top 10 engine on 2012

I'm glad that the 2.0 Ecotec is still being used by GM. Apparently it is more "refined" than the original motor, although not much is different than the original.

The 2.0 never left and is in more versions now. It is a little refined but not much t we will see more major updates soon to this engine along with a new non turbo 200 HP 2.5.

They are offering a 220 HP and a 270 version right now. It can be had in a Regal, Regal GS , Verano late this summer, Coming new Chevy Malibu, Impala, Coming Cadillac XTS FWD/AWD and ATS RWD/AWD.

There has been talk of it being found in the new Alpha platform 2015 Camaro [ 3300 pound car] Possible in the Chevy Sonic and in other CUV's and other unnamed future products.

The 2.0 is going to be the go to engine option in many of the new products GM is releasing and will be releasing.

Just watch as there will be many suprises at GM over the next 5 years. Lots of really good stuff coming.

6 speed manual

I see reference to a 6-speed manual being mated to a "refined" version of the 2.0 turbo. Would it be physically possible to drop this transmission into an HHR SS?

Yes, won't fit the Delta Platform, that's why it never happened.

To fit the 6 speed in would have made them cust the floor and firewall and have to redo the structure. The cost was too much for the HHR that was near the end of it's life cycle. They stopped the 4 speeds and then it was a matter of time till the HHR was gone.

The 4 speed was always the limiting factor. The new tranny is smoother and stronger. Out Malibu it great with one.
