Any Quicken Users? I could use some help.

I have been using the free version of Quicken 2006 that come on my laptop for book-keeping. I was bored and it was free so I gave it a try and now I'm hooked. The problem is that with my "vacation" overseas I haven't been able to update the accounts regulary and now they are all out of wack. I have tried to have Quicken balance-the-books for itself by using the latest online balance but, that just makes the numbers worse. What is the better solution 1) Erase the account and start over completely or 2) Try and dig through 11 months of digital monthly statements from several different banks / credit cards to balance it myself? Any other ideas?

I've been using Quicken for years and periodically (about every two years) I'll do a manual update as the investment accounts seem to get out of wack. Linking to you various accounts is the only way to have Quicen do it, but each account has to have its own username and password which also can be problematic. Tracking spending for Turbo Tax or other such programs, is a real pain as every catagory that is a deduction, must be linked to the correct IRS form for real tracking information.

So as long as I download the monthly files, and then run them in Quicken I should be good to go?

You should be, but as stated before Back Up the files but to a seperated disc if you have writable capabilities. Thats what I do when I travel back east, take my laptop and the backup. then I can update my files on my main computer when I get home.
