Best GPS and your experience

I know this has been talked about b4 but I could not find anything. Would you buy a portable unit or not? How much did you pay for yours? Magellan vs Garmin. What features do you like the best on yours? How large of screen do you have? Help, I don't want to spend $500 plus and find out I bought a LEMON.
Thank you for your help.

See ya down the road

Depends on how you are going to use it. I have a Magellen Sport Track pro loaded with topo maps. I use the Topo-3D in my laptop for making ATV maps for our ATV club and we use them for making the big maps that are handed out. $259

I had been using it on trips as the waypoints can be uploaded along with regions.

I just got a Mio GPS to now use during traveling on my trips. Way less to do with it, it has the voice guidance built in and the suction bracket to mount to the windshield.. $199

I have used microsoft street and trips in the past, but then you have to carry more in your luggage.

I've been using the garmin c320 for months now and have not had any issues getting to my destination. Puchased at $199 from frys.com when it went on sale.

You might want to look into a Garmin c330. Nationwide maps are pre-loaded on the unit. It has voice guidance and advices you early enough on turns.

I use a Garmin Nuvi 350 (refurb.) everyday to get to my clients and it works great. I like the feature, that says the street name of the turn. Nice clear screen and easy to use.

I have the Garmin C330 , I Love it and it is so easy to use. It attachés to the windshield easily, also have put it in the small glove box on the dash and it works well there also. It does what I needed it to do. And I see that Best Buys has them listed for 249.00 in their sale add.

Garmin C320 here..hands down the best GPS for the $$...same as C330 except you load the maps via a SD card....I like that a lot...one less thing to die(hard drive)

I don't like the synth voice on the C340 or the C530 that say the street names...harder to understand than "Take Left here"

just my 2 cents...and I bought mine for over 300 so under 200 is a steal now

Garmin all the way baby

I paid $340 for garmin N350, which we move it between 2 cars and a motorcycle. The voice I think is better on the garmin and the screen is easy to see as you are driving along.

I've had a C330 for almost a year now. I will never travel again without LULU. She gets me where I'm going and directs me back home. I never have to worry about getting lost and wasting time.
