grinding my gears

You know what grinds my gears, when a dimbulb starts to commit to make a turn rt turn on red,you follow, the the dimbulb in front that started the turn, stops short and you hit them.It happened to me today,I was doing as described above, guy in truck stops short,I hit him, lucky for me he was in a truck, the side of my hood(between headlight and grille) hit his hitch,I need a hood.No cops and no insurance,I am paying out of pocket,no damage to his rear bumper. It just sucks because I said to the guy, dude, why did you stop, you were totally committed to that turn,he says, that car coming seemed too close(over 1/8 mile away). If the cops came,i would have gotten a ticket for hitting him in the rear.Life sucks

Moved to the lounge.

That old saw about the rear car always at fault is wrong. The guy that stopped in front of me got a ticket, happened twice to me.

Depends on where you live. In Michigan, 99 times out of 100, if you rear end someone, you're at fault, regardless.

Unless the other driver did something illegal or dangerous, as was my case both times.

For instance; stopping to turn right at an intersection marked "NO TURNS", or stopping at a green light in the left lane.
