Crazy, You know yourself that pics can be misleading. Only one way to find out and that's to start payin' the piper.

it has rust through on some of the door bottoms and the rockers are bad. driver floor has a 3" hole. the spare tire tub is gone. it was in new mexico but the rear window was out for a long time.

the tag on top of the fire wall is different because it was a body by fisher car.

Yes, so was mine..Fisher Body was in Penna.. Friends live not far from where it used to be..

& Kid- that motor can be rebuilt many, many times if needed..& cost a whole lot less doing it too..

What exactly did fisher do? Did they just do the interiors or more than that?

And I am not sure exactly what's wrong with the motor but I would rather rebuild the origional. If not maybe put a straight six that's not splash lubricated

The Fisher Bros stamped bodies & did other things as well for Auto Makers including GM...Long history.. Later GM bought into them, & continued the union of them, AFIK to this day, or at least into the 80's. (not sure on that part).. But they had plants in many places.

As to the 216", good motor... but agree a non dipper/splash 6 would be a good up-grade..

That would be up to your local DMV as to what is proper if you swap motors......

You know on that old of car if you just took a flat piece of the proper thickness thin and recreated a new plate no one would be the wiser. I have used that a few times over the years. Once, I even bought a aluminum plate from Bob Drake Ford and used it on an old Ford and it was never, never questioned.

1951 Chevy Fleetline Deluxe

What if you can't make out your VIN?
Mine looks like 5KKY (or I, if not Y) then 5500 ... more?
Am I getting close?
FYI, don't get too excited. It's a rusted heap. People have scanned it for parts, I'm pretty sure it's picked CLEAN. Best thing is the bullet holes. Could have value as a "Bonnie and Clyde" decoration.
