HHR insurance

But as I said, Alzonie....my rates more than doubled from the previous year......$437/yr to $879/yr. When I initially contacted AARP/Hartford about this increase they offered nothing, except the rates went up. And, believe me I argued....how could they double...no accidents, no tickets, no claims.
I'm not too thrilled with what I pay on the Altima because I only put about 2000 miles on a Year since I retired a few years ago But, I've got to have it covered even so.

be careful comparing what one person pays to what you pay.. even if you drive the same car ther is alot more to it than # of ticket and kind of car you drive...for instance he may have extremly good credit, home owners discount and have pleasure use rating all of wich would yield the lowest rates... on the other hand you could be a male under 25 years of age single live in the big city and have a commuter rating.and terrible credit. all of would yeild higher rates...

I pay $ 306 every six months for the hhr and have maxed out on discounts...and have super credit rating.. Im not complaining..
BTW... who ever that was from Joplin Mo....The state of MO has the cheapest rates I have ever seen... I had a cousin move back tro Texas after living in MO, for a few years ago and when I wrote his insurance he thought I was crazy till he shopped around and discovered it was a Texas thing.. His prior carrier even told him so..

I think I've read somewhere that even your ZIP Code factors into your car Ins. rates. I would think mainly in the Comprehensive coverage to cover theft if you happen to be in an area with a higher possibility of losing your wheels.

zip code is a major factor... It can determine if you live in area with alot of uninsured motorist, a hi probabilty for hail damage, theft, vandalism.. and just poor drivers... city traffic vs country drivin... you see insurance companies have these guys on the payroll called actuaries (sp?) any way they were math majors back in college.. You know the guys you paid $40/hour to tutor you through physics, algebra 1&2,calculus.... any way these guys figure all probabilties of all the factors of the slightest chance of a claim and its serverity.. they make an insurance company profitable... oh and they get big bonus if they are right... odds in the house favor.....

I was shopping around for new insurance and was talking to a few different companies, and heard a weird thing that I sure is wrong.
A lot of companies think that the 2.4L ecotec is a inline 246c.i. 5 cylinder, and the 2.0l in the SS is a 305c.i. v8. I polity told a few companies they are full of ****, but non believed me.
Just thought it was very wierd. I also got a VIN for a v8 HHR from an insurance agent.
