Highest mileage you have ever had on a vehicle?

Hi all , my 01 Silverado just hit 400,000 ..she's not so pretty anymore , but runs perfect !! Rolling proof of the longevity of the LS engine !!

Congrats!

565,000 miles and it's still going with its third owner, 1988 C1500

RIGHT ON OLDBLUE !!! What has your general method been for services? I stick to the suggested service intervals and since around 100,000 I have used one of the products that many refer to as "SNAKEOIL" and I will swear by it. at around 260,000 I switched to 15W40.

In the big truck, I changed Dino oil every 3,000 miles, changed transmission fluid every 100,000 miles along with the rear differential lube. I'm a little OCD in that case!
For the HHR, I run synthetic 5w30 Castrol Edge , change it every 7,500 miles, change the transmission fluid and filter every 100,000 miles.
On both I use a K&N air filter, wash it every spring. Keep it clean and drive it often!!

Well Oldblue I guess we are the only HIGH MILEAGE HEROES ..LOL

I've got a 98 Dodge Ram with 181,000 miles. Bought it new. At my mileage rate, I should hit 400,000 around uhhhh..............the year 2040.
Highest mileage vehicle I've ever owned.

Before I got my 2008 HHR in 2013, I had a 1997 Toyota Tercel with 275,000 miles on the clock. I sold it to a friend for $1.00 with full declaration of its problems.

Blue_SS 02-15-2017 07:23 PM

In context, I am shamed. I have had 2 cars hit 142K+ miles, but my HHR is now at 141K miles. I hope to break my own record, but 500K+ seems out of reach with an HHR SS.

2000 S10 Reg cab stepside 4.3 V6/Auto 203,234 miles on the odo.
next is my Red Wagon 2011 2.4 I-4 135,xxx.

1982 Volvo 245DL station wagon 2.1L 4 cyl ; 305,000. 4 spd manual with OD. It was wife's kid hauler and served us well when our family was young.
1988 Volvo 760T 2.3L 4 cyl turbo, auto, 270,000 - my favorite highway car. Gave it to my older daughter to drive and she beat the crap out of it
1994 Volvo 850 Base Wagon 2.5L 5 cyl auto; 250,000 - One of the most comfortable cars I've ever owned; got rid of it because I didn't want to spend the money for a new cat and the rest of what it might of needed to pass smog.
1997 Ford Aerostar XLT 4.0L V6 auto; 220,000 - bought new to replace the Volvo station wagon; new interior, parked a while back with a head gasket issue; hesitant to let it go as I put so much money into restoring the inside
1989 Ford Bronco II 4WD, 2.9L 5 spd; 250,000 - another vehicle trashed by my older daughter; just rebuilt the 5 spd trans; need to get it running again as it has been sitting too long; want to hold onto it as they are now going up in value
1993 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible 2.0L 4 cyl turbo; 256,000, still runs fantastic, put new top and new interior, needs work to pass CA smog, body needs refreshing, debating whether to hold onto it as my personal Saab mechanic passed away last year; probably the most difficult car I have ever owned to work on
2008 HHR SS, Silver 170,000, Auto trans; completely stock except for Performance driver's seat, Wife's daily driver and my favorite ride also; bought from local dealer as a CPO w/70k miles 6 years ago; Uses 1 qt. oil every 3000 miles; I have new LCAs and OEM struts to install when I can find the time. After we sorted out the issues at the dealer (ignition switch, sunroof issue, powertrain control module, etc.) under extended warranty it has been a very reliable car. We still get compliments from strangers wherever we go with it!

That guy is making a living promoting that car. I remember seeing articles for the 1 million mile badge.
