Kids will both be gone. Dinner at our favorite TexMex restaurant. Watch tv to see the ball drop at 11:00 (cst) then wait for midnight. Drinks during all of it.

Same thing I do every New Year's Eve....in bed and asleep by 10pm. The new year can come in without me. The only time I stayed up till midnight New Year's Eve was 1999. A group of neighbors got together to watch 2000 come in and see the world end - well at least the electricity go off! Didn't happen!

Had a wonderful dinner out with one of our nieces and her husband then went home and played Gran Turismo 5 until the ball dropped. It was actually great fun for all. It was either that or go to the Spazmatics concert at the local casino. Lost a couple of very dear friends to drunk drivers on a NY Eve past, so being on the road late kind of has a dark cloud over it for me on that particular night.
