The stock speakers back there are some type of mid bass speaker and very little high sounds come out of it. I think it was a 6.5 inch speaker. I replaced those speakers with a set of Boston Acoustics mid and tweet set. |
speaker swap
i hope your right, i stoped at the local audio shop this morning and they said they entire side panels have to come out and its a major pain.
how much did the boston acoustics run? |

how much did the boston acoustics run? I paid big dollars for them. You can go with a Pioneer 3 way for nothing much. I would add a side panal subwoofer back there for bass and sound quality. |
If they did not change them from the first ones I worked on all you have to do is take the screw out of the hook at the top of the panel, grab the top of the padded panel and pull it towards the roof.
The panel should come off and then just remove the speaker and reassemble just like it came off. Hope this helps. (ps. if you pull on or pry the panel off you may break off the tabs and spend a lot longer to fix it than to change the spaeker) Dan |
