Pluged Floor Drain

Anyone know of a super good drain cleaner ?? I've used several store shelf items but no luck? Pluged with house hold gunk, maybe tree roots. Water does drain but very slow ?
I really don't want a big plumer's bill..
Thanks

Try household bleach, it seems to work pretty well. :thumb: Of course it won't dissolve tree roots, you may need to rent a snake to run down it. If you've got old terra cotta pipes that have cracked, the roots are penetrating the pipes, probably not worth even running a snake through IMHO.

I've used a chemical called "Liquid Fire" that will clear any drain known to man. Last time I used it, (about 10 years ago) I purchased it a an Ace Hardware in Houston. Not sure if you can still get it or not, but I know it works.

If it's tree roots, good luck. Hire Roto Rooter to use a cutter to clear it out. I did my old iron pipe drain myself to save a few bucks. Yep, that worked out just great. The plastic pipe is really nice and is just sooooo expensive when you have to replace your main drain on a weekend. $$$$$$$

Save yourself what could be an expensive hassle. If drain cleaner doesn't work, hire a pro. I always do....NOW :red:

Pluged Floor Drain

Thank you to all, Keep your finger's crossed for me. I went to Home Depot and purchased a gal size bottle of "Profesinal Drain Cleaner" cost me $26.67 with the tax. As soon as I got home here I dumped it in the floor drain. They say to let it stand for 4 hour's then run HOT water behind it for 5 minutes. I did as told, then I did a load of wash. Low and behold when the washer went into dump mode not a drop backed up in the wash tube drain.
I guess it must be open now ?????????????
Now the basement smells like ****. Guess I'll have to wash the floor down with bleach & soap.
Thanks again, you members are #1:bow:
