I think that's it, but I think there are some differences between the FWD and RWD applications - like the cats being in different places - that will mean different harness lengths and such.

I think this would be a lot of work, but it should fit, and would definitely be a unique car.

I did not like this car.
Very heavy, it is heavier HHR. But internal space less than HHR.
Astra has a hideous review back. Opel Astra parts are much more expensive (this is a European car). Metal of body - thin.

It is my impression, "is not really what want a typical American." Install CC-heart in the body ordinary car? The work should not
But of course, the final decision is yours.
Did you say the Astra is heavier than the HHR? Might wanna fact check that boss. The Astra is at least 500lbs less

According to the interwebs the Astra weighs 3,483 pounds, HHR weighs 3155 pounds. I think you got it bassakward.

That, and this thread is over 10 years old... and the Opel Astra really isn't available in the USA.

Cody, you might be thinking of the Saturn Astra.

I would love to stumble upon a nice Saturn Astra. 5-door especially. Getting parts would be a pita, though.
