A couple more shots of the SS for you and your boss SS fan. These are from the day I picked it up, more shots coming as the weather improves. It figures I'd buy me a rag top just when Carolina has one of the worst winters in decades...ugh!

I seem to recall something about red fender liners.....
Were those available on the SS, or was that Pontiac?

Actually the Oldsmobile 442 came with red fender liners up front, added a bit of extra flash to them. I have a soft spot for the 442's but I'll always be a Chevy guy.

Very Sharp, Carpice Or Impala ?

Impala body, but in 1967 the SS was a stand alone model with RPO code Z24. You won't find any Impala badges on the outside bodywork, just the SS 427 badges. The only Impala identification is a small badge on the glove box door. The SS's had their own body number and VIN identification, if you ever see a '67 SS sporting Impala or Caprice badges, its a fake. After '67 the SS became an option package on the full size Chevy's, so you'll see Impala badges on the '68-70 models. Of the '67 SS 427's there were 4 built with the triple black combination and L-36 engine. 2 were 4 speeds, and 2 were automatics, one had factory air....that's mine.

I think it is safe to say it gives you pleasure to pat that one on the fender before you leave. It would cause a ruckus at Barrett Jacksons. :twothumbs:

While I'd be curious to see what it would bring at B/J, its not for sale, nor will it ever be. Honestly I enjoy every one of my cars, the most important thing is having something that you look forward to driving every time. You have to admit that you smile when you fire up your SS, they get under your skin. A few years back Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear wrote a book called "I Know You Got Soul", its about those machines that have that something extra, that little spark that makes them what they are. I put the HHR's on that list, they have that something extra, that spark that makes them so much fun.

If it wasn't for that I'd have to throw the little bugger out,but I can't even bring myself to park it outside for the night. When we were in Canada I made my father inlaw park his ford outside so the SS wouldn't get too cold,I'm sick aren't I.:lol:

Nothing wrong with tying a Ford up outside, just make sure it has a bowl of water and some food.
