02 sensors! again!

hello everyone! i hope all is well for you all!

a couple of weeks ago i thought my 2006 2lt 2.4 HHR oh with about 94k, i didnt forget this time!! lol, was running a bit rough but nothing was amiss. i changed the oil a week ago and the CEL comes on! cant find my code reader so i drove it up to advance and they checked it out. came back that the upper airstream is toast. and the radiator temp sensor throws a code intermittently!! must be a sensor issue or connection. but i will also check the level.

so i just ordered my parts and noticed i did this 2 yrs ago.i guess they have become regular maintainance for me!! any ideas of what may be the cause of this? i dont just like throwing parts on i tend to like to try to resolve the issues.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

I like to check all the little things before buying parts, like did the MAF sensor get reconnected, are the O2 sensor connectors connected firmly and is there dielectric grease in the connector? Now if the sensor has failed in just two years , has it failed? Or is it doing it’s job? Is the throttle body dirty? Are those spark plugs correct?
Now I know the computer could tell you by throwing a code , but just to be sure check things out! And if you need to order parts don’t forget the discount code for RockAuto!

Without posting the actual codes, it's hard to give any ideas or opinions. And if you're going by what Advance says is wrong, Good luck with that.
Remember. They are in the business of selling parts. They're not technicians.

My 2007 2.4L is on the original O2 sensor at 99K miles.... They shouldn't get "all tor up" in 2 years time.

Made up names of parts doesn't help me much. All I got is the Check Engine Light came on, then the clerk at Advance decided it must be the digronificator needs lubricating.
Things that are helpful:
the codes
the type of code (current, pending or permanent)
any symptoms (AC doesn't work, rough idle, etc)

Radiator temperature, as in P0128?
Upper O2 as in P0171?

could be thermostat and flex pipe. However that’s just a guess the actual codes would confirm that , as Greybeard says the O2 sensor should last longer then 2 years.

sorry, i have not been around just a bit hectic working 2-3hrs o/t everyday and really not in the mood to go on the computer for myself.

i get all your points. p0053 & p0128 shows intermittent and they used an actron elite autoscanner if that matters.

Those 2 don't seem to be related. P0128 is either the t-stat is stuck open or there is a loose wire to the temp sensor. The P0053 could be a wire to the #1 O2 sensor or the sensor is bad.

The P0128 can cause the rich fuel problem, which could trigger the P0053.

make sure you install an AC Delco 131-158 180 degrees thermostat, and burp the coolant

P0053 is the sensor heater either burned out or disconnected.
