2007 2.2 high idle.

Hello all, I cleaned my throttle body with carb cleaner while it was running and with the air induction tube from the filter box off. The motor now revs to about 2500rpm all the time with the exception when you first start it and never touch the pedal the it will idle at 800. any info would be great thanks

I don't know what is wrong, but that is the wrong product and wrong procedure for cleaning the throttle body. Air induction tube? Do you have a 2.2 or a 2.0?

to be honest I don't know what size, I just bought this a few weeks ago. I guess it may be the 2.0. I agree on the wrong product and procedure I guess I just wasn't thinking and thought since there isn't anything behind it that nothing could be hurt.

2007 only came with a 2.2 or 2.4. The 2.0 is the SS turbo engine(2008-2010).

hello,
the same issue when I made the first thorttle body cleaning with a "specialized mechanic" I had to repair by myself, just quit the tap of the air filter, after the air filter and before the thorttle body there is a sensor is a little square inside the hose, seems like a photocell, you will need a scredriver, be carefull, clean it very well with some alcohol and thats it, and dont let fingerprints, you will notice the diference inmediatly, may be it could be necessary more than 1 cleaning due the carb cleaner residue, the rpm will be stable by driving around 20 miles.
Hope it works for you
sorry for my english still learning lolo.
Regards from Monterrey Mx.

There is a correct fluid for that. Throttle body cleaner for the throttle body and MAF cleaner for the MAF (sensor is a little square inside the hose, seems like a photocell) are both available.
