ac vents not putting out much air

On the 06 project car I just bought the ac works but even on the high fan setting there is very little air coming out of the air vents. I can hear the blower working and the air seems to be coming out somewhere back of the dashboard. I replaced the cabin filter but it made no difference. I found a receipt for a blower motor in the car so it looks like someone replaced the blower motor recently. Is it possible to wire the motor wrong so it blows backwards? Im just guessing though. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Must be something in the heat transfer box.

Look into the operation of the blend door.

I second the review of the blend door operation.

I wish it was that easy. I replaced it and no change. I found the old blower in the back and i notice that they did not reattach the plastic blower cover and its nowhere to he found. Does that need to be there for the blower to work correctly? Thanks

The blower motor was installed with thr plug facing front instead of the back. I corrected it and it improvrf air flow a little bit but not enough. All the different air settings, bilevel etc work and the recirculate works so im thinking like Don already said that its the air box door that changes from heat to ac. I think that actuator has the door stuck in the middle blocking the air from both the ac and the heat. I tried the pulling fuse routine to reset it but there was no change. Next step is to look at the actuator. I wonder if its possible to manually move the air door?

I guess you could after removing the actuator motor to see if the door does move easily. Install a new actuator motor, as long as you can see it's the problem with the old one when you move the selector position and watch the movement of the shaft on the old motor.

Im going to take out the actuator and move the air door manually and see if the air volume increases to verify that is the problem. I also came across a youtube video showing ac delco techs calibrating the actuator out of the car with a 9 volt battery. I think its possible that the actuator got out of calibration.
